Explore stunning St Vincent on an exciting 4x4 ride and visit a beautiful beach for a drink and a swim.

Rumbling around the island, you’ll gain insight into the lives of Vincentians as your guide explains all about local culture. Admire the cobblestone streets and 19th-century churches in the capital, Kingstown. Stop for photos of the dramatic views from the clifftop Fort Charlotte. Trace the thunderous Atlantic coastline and fill your lungs with fresh fragrances from the nutmeg, cassava and cocoa farms as you drive through the lush Mesopotamia Valley.

As you pass deep gorges in the idyllic countryside, wave hello to donkey-riding farmers and vibrantly-dressed local women who balance baskets on their heads. At Brighton Beach, pause to spend some time relaxing on the soft sand. Sip a rum punch, stroll in the shade of the palm trees and take a dip in the ocean if you fancy.

Immerse yourself in local food, drink, music and culture as you discover the Vincentian way of life.

As you start off your local discovery, your guide will bring the island to life with samples of local treats and the different ways of eating.

On arrival at Rawacou, you’ll be taken to a beach gazebo, where you can see actual breadfruit being roasted. Roasted breadfruit is now a proud part of the St Vincent national dish, with its semi-sweet, starchy texture, you’ll be able to taste it along with some of its savoury accompaniments. Other locally-grown foods of prominence will be served in their prepared state such as salted fish, peanut cakes, fudge and coconut cakes. The guide will also provide information about their favoured drinks, including sorrel, ginger drink, beer and rum.

You’ll have around 45 minutes’ free time before you leave Rawacou to chat informally to the guides, take a stroll to the beach front or simply relax and enjoy the sea views.

Atlantic Coast and Rum

Take a scenic drive along St Vincent’s Atlantic Coast and take a tour of the St. Vincent Rum Distillery.

Board your minibus for a picturesque drive along St. Vincent’s scenic Atlantic Coast as you head towards Georgetown, where the last functional rum-making distillery on the island is located. Sit back, relax and soak up the scenery during your journey.

Your knowledgeable guide will give the history of the islands and their relationship with sugar, pointing out interesting sights along the way. Keep an eye out for the sugar cane plants as they wave their spindly stalks in the sunlight.

A short photo stop will be made at Black Point. This historic tunnel was dug during the height of the slave trade and was important in the transport of the molasses for the making of the rum.

Upon your arrival in Georgetown, you’ll have a full tour of the distillery, seeing the process from start to finish. The distillery produces rum which is over 80% proof, one of the strongest in the Caribbean. Finish your tour with a rum tasting and some time for shopping to purchase souvenirs.

Explore the beautiful island of Bequia on this full day land and sea adventure with refreshments and lunch included.

Bequia is the largest island in St Vincent and the Grenadines and is well known for being the most attractive island in the Grenadines. Begin your tour on the beautiful shores of Bequia where you’ll have free time to explore Bequia’s main harbour, a town fringed by palm trees, colourful west Indian shacks and fluorescent blue seas.

Next up, you’ll reboard the catamaran and head out to Lower Bay beach for a lunch stop, a cool refreshing dip in turquoise blue water and a chance to sunbathe, relax and snorkel. Lunch options include classic Caribbean fish, vegetarian and chicken dinners.

After lunch, enjoy a coastal tour of Bequia visiting the fascinating locations of Moonhole and Petit Nevis. Somewhat of a natural wonder, Moonhole is an ancient ruin made of stones, driftwood, whale bones and conch shells. Petit Nevis, on the other hand, was formerly used as a whaling station, during the peak of Bequia’s whaling history.

This excursion operates by catamaran. Pregnant women may not participate. Snorkel equipment is included (fins are not provided). The journey time to Bequia is approximately 1½ hours. Please remember swimwear, sunscreen and a towel. Those who suffer with seasickness should take the necessary precautions as the crossing can be very choppy. Depending on sea swells, an alternative anchorage may be used and snorkelling may not be possible. Time spent at the beach may be limited; this is dependent on sea conditions and arrival time. Guests will be tendered ashore by motorboat or dinghy to the beach. Your feet may get wet and water shoes are recommended. Cold refreshments, rum punch, soft drinks and beer will be available on board. Sightings of whales and dolphins are common but not guaranteed. Please refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages prior to any swimming activities.

Best of St Vincent

Capture the best of St Vincent, from high above the town at Fort Charlotte to the lush Mespotamia Valley and Botanical Gardens.

Take a drive uphill to Fort Charlotte, a former British garrison, completed in 1806. The Fort houses a collection of paintings, depicting the history of the black Caribs. There are also cannons, a signal station and a wonderful panoramic view of the northern Grenadines, the capital Kingstown and beyond.

Visit the Botanical Gardens – one of the oldest in the western hemisphere. The Gardens stand on 20 acres and are a must for any keen gardener or nature enthusiast. The aviary is also well worth a visit as it is home to many of the local species of parrots including the national bird, the Amazona Guildingii.

Your tour continues to the Mesopotamia Valley, commonly known as the ‘Food Basket’, with its rich and fertile crops and fruit trees. Within the Valley are some banana plantations, which were once the mainstay of the island’s economy.

The tour concludes at a beach bar where you can savour local rum punch or fruit punch.
