Battlechefs comes to Britannia

Cooking utensils at the ready, and be prepared for battle. New reality TV cookery programme Battlechefs is coming to Britannia

P&O Cruises Food Hero Marco Pierre White

This spring, UKTV’s new programme Battlechefs will bring together travel, food and celebrity competitors in the first reality TV cookery programme at sea.

Filmed over two Mediterranean cruises on board P&O Cruises flagship Britannia, P&O Cruises Food Hero and celebrity chef Marco Pierre White will oversee celebrities as they battle it out in some good-hearted cooking rivalry.

The show will see two groups of five celebrities, including Blur’s Alex James, Boyzone’s Keith Duffy, former JLS band member JB Gill, Australian choreographer and Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner and Eastenders’ John Partridge, visit Mediterranean ports of call to learn all about the local culinary traditions and heritage. Back on board, they’ll put their newfound knowledge to the test in the kitchen of Britannia’s The Cookery Club, rustling up a feast for judge Marco Pierre White, the ship’s Captain and VIP guests.

Contestants will take it in turns to be Head Chef, commanding their fellow competitors in the kitchen as they work as a team to prepare the menu they’ve been given, under the watchful eye of Marco Pierre White.

‘We’re very excited Britannia is featuring on Battlechefs,’ said P&O Cruises Marketing Director Christopher Edgington. ‘Our Cookery Club on board provides the perfect backdrop for the show as celebrities prepare speciality dishes from around the Med.’

UKTV’s Commissioning Editor Victoria Summer added: ‘Travel, food and healthy competition come together in Battlechefs. It’s an energetic show that centres on challenge and good-hearted rivalry. Seeing whether our celebs can pull off the menus they’re given against the clock is going to be very entertaining.’

Battlechefs airs on UKTVs entertainment channel, W, this spring.
