Food Hero Eric Lanlard hosts a cookery class on Britannia

With Britain’s Bake Off-inspired obsession showing no sign yet of waning, we’ve teamed up with our very own Food Hero, master pâtissier Eric Lanlard, to give you a brand-new series of fun and inclusive classes in The Cookery Club on Britannia.

Eric earned himself an international reputation for superlative baked creations for an impressive A-list clientele. He is, according to Vanity Fair magazine, one of the best pâtissiers in the world. On Britannia, guests can sample his fine pâtisseries in The Market Café, while his indulgent Afternoon Tea is an experience not to be missed. This playful reinvention of the British tradition takes teatime decadence to a new level in The Epicurean restaurant on Azura, Britannia and Ventura, and in Ocean Grill on Arcadia.

As part of our year of special celebrations to mark 180 years of P&O history, we want to help you learn how to create the perfect party treats! Working with the chefs of The Cookery Club, Eric has created a workshop that’s easy to follow and perfect for families and friends of all ages to enjoy together (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a kitchen pro, you’ll be sure to learn something new to share at your next celebration back home.

‘I’m so excited to give our guests on Britannia the opportunity to recreate some of my bestselling items from The Market Café and some of the most impressive wow-factor delicacies from my signature Afternoon Tea, including my cake pops, salted butter caramel macaroons and strawberry fraisier,’ says Eric.

What’s more, on Food Hero Cruises when Eric is on board (B712, B715 and B726), you’ll have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn from the master himself. In an intimate masterclass, you’ll learn Eric’s secrets and hear stories from his career as you follow his instructions and make your own delicious delicacies – either a perfect French macaron or passion fruit and white chocolate cake pops, which are perfect for parties with friends. Of course, you’ll get to keep, or eat, your creations!

The classes are available on 11 selected cruises on Britannia this year. Three are hosted by Eric Lanlard (B712, B715 and B726). On these three Food Hero cruises, Eric will also host exclusive dinners on board. Other Britannia cruises with these exciting masterclasses held by the Head of The Cookery Club are B718, B72, B724, B723, B727, B728 and B730.
