Passengers wearing black tie clothing

Christmas is coming and the excitement is mounting... And if you don’t want to let go of that festive feeling as the New Year turns, why not look ahead and treat your family to the best Christmas ever in 2016?

Whether you fancy Christmas under a sparkling Caribbean sky, flip flops on and rum punch in hand, or prefer to wrap up warm, surrounded by snowflakes, pine trees and traditional treats, we’ve got the festivities covered with our range of Christmas cruises.

Get in the festive spirit

One of our Christmas market cruises is sure to get you in the mood. Stock up on beautiful Christmas presents and treats at the famous markets of Bruges, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Hamburg. Choose from gorgeous handicrafts and gourmet goodies and soak up the magical atmosphere with Glühwein and hot chocolate. With no limit on your luggage, you can also find a wealth of treats and last-minute stocking fillers on board.

Christmas holidays to remember

Setting off on a cruise is always exciting, but being on board at this time of year is truly special. The decks are festooned with fairy lights, baubles and tinsel, a fragrant gingerbread house takes centre stage among beautiful floral displays, and you’ll enjoy carols and a midnight service on Christmas Eve. If you’re spending New Year with us, too, there will be haggis, bagpipes and dancing till dawn.

And rest assured, you’ll still enjoy all your favourite family traditions: the amazing food and drink, the merrymaking, great entertainment and a wealth of festive activities for all the family – all laid on with none of the hassle. Forget about slaving away in the kitchen all Christmas morning and mountains of washing up. We’ve got all the preparation and clearing up covered so you can relax and have fun with your loved ones.

Family fun

Christmas on board is serious fun. In addition to great shows and events, we’ll add extra sparkle with pantomimes featuring crew members and nativity plays that the children can take part in for those ‘aaaahhh’ moments. All family-friendly ships feature children’s parties, a visit from Santa and presents for all guests – and on some you’ll even find a grotto!

As for the adults, with the little ones entertained and exhausted, you can take a real break and have your own fun. In the evenings the fizz will be flowing and you can dance the night away. Alternatively, catch a show, a festive movie or have a special dinner at one of our fine dining restaurants. Or you may simply prefer to find a cosy corner and curl up with something warming.

Why I love Christmas cruises

Passenger Angela Mabbett has already booked her 2016 Christmas cruise on Arcadia. Here, she captures the spirit of Christmas cruises past on board Arcadia and Oceana.

‘I would recommend a Christmas cruise to anyone. On past Christmas cruises, the festivities begin as soon as you step on board your ship. It’s beautifully decorated and a choir performs in the Atrium. On Christmas Day, many guests don Christmas jumpers. There is a morning carol service led by the Captain and lessons are read by various crew. It’s a pleasure to see the children enjoying themselves so much.

‘In the afternoon, Father Christmas puts in an appearance by the pool and we all guess who he might be! Every guest receives a present and a signed card from the Captain and the guest choir sings carols while we sip our mulled wine.

‘Christmas dinner itself is gorgeous and can be followed by a great show in the theatre. It’s a fabulous festive day on board. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas with one huge family.’
